Yard Cleanup Services in Colorado Springs — What a Cleanup Includes

What a Cleanup Includes

We do not sell a vague "yard refresh." The work is specific, and we agree on the list at the estimate.

  • Leaf and debris removal. Leaves, needles, branches, and the litter that collects along fences and beds.
  • Tree and shrub trimming. The dead wood, the suckers, and the shrubs that have grown over the walk.
  • Gutter cleaning. So the next rain or melt does not pour over a clog and onto the foundation.
  • Mulching. Fresh mulch on beds that have gone thin, after the old debris is out.
  • Haul-away of yard waste. We take the debris with us. You do not bag it or stack it at the curb for us.

That list is yard waste from the work we just did. You should not be left with bags to haul yourself.

Yard Cleanup Services in Colorado Springs — Fall Leaf Removal

Fall Leaf Removal

Fall is the cleanup that matters most before winter in Colorado Springs. Leaves left on the lawn mat down and smother the grass. Leaves in the gutters and in window wells hold water against the house, then freeze. Our fall visit is built around that:

  • Blow out and pick up leaves, then haul them away.
  • Trim trees and shrubs and pull plants that are done for the year.
  • Clean perennial beds so they are not a wet mat under the snow.
  • Clean gutters before the first heavy snow.
  • Add mulch where the beds need cover through winter.

Book it before the snow, not after the leaves are frozen to the lawn. More on the season is in fall leaf removal. If the wells are already full of leaves and ice, that overlaps our window well work.

Yard Cleanup Services in Colorado Springs — Spring Cleanup

Spring Cleanup

Spring cleanup takes off what winter left. Needles, broken branches, and matted leaves come off the lawn so the grass can get light. Beds get the dead stalks pulled. We can see bare spots and shrubs that did not make it once the debris is gone.

This is not a promise of a perfect lawn by June. It is a reset so you can see the yard and so new growth is not coming up through last year's trash. Our spring yard cleanup tips and spring cleanup checklist are the homeowner version of what we look for on that visit.

If the beds are thin after the cleanup, mulch is the next step, not another week of raking. Summer mulch is covered in summer mulching for Colorado Springs.

Tree and Shrub Trimming

Trimming on a cleanup is the practical cut: dead wood, branches on the roof or the walk, and shrubs that have swallowed the front of the house. We are not a weekly hedge route. We cut what is in the way or what is dead, and we haul the brush.

If a shrub is finished and the bed should be replanted, that is landscaping, and we can quote it. A cleanup alone will not turn a dead hedge into a new one. It will get the dead wood out so you can see what is left.

Gutters, Mulch, and Haul-Away

Gutter cleaning belongs with leaf season. A gutter full of leaves sends water down the siding and into the beds against the foundation. We clean them as part of the fall visit when you want that included. Say so on the estimate so we bring what we need for a two-story house.

Mulch goes on after the bed is cleaned, not on top of leaves. It holds moisture and gives the bed a finished line. Rock beds are a different material. If you want decorative rock instead of mulch, that is on our landscape products page and it is usually a landscaping visit, not a one-day cleanup.

Haul-away is included for the yard waste we create. Branches, leaves, and pulled plants leave with the crew. You should not have a pile in the driveway when we are done.

Cleanup and the Rest of the Yard

A cleanup often shows the next job. Beds that are more weeds than plants belong with landscaping services in Colorado Springs. Water that sits after we pull the leaves may be drainage. A fence buried in brush may need fence repair once you can see the posts. We can quote those. We do not fold them into a cleanup price without telling you.

Many homeowners do the fall cleanup first, then plan planting for spring. That order keeps you from planting into a bed that is still full of last year's debris.

One Visit or Each Season

Some yards need one hard reset. Others need the same visit every fall because the cottonwoods fill the lawn again. We will tell you which one you are looking at when we see the property. A single visit has a clear list and a haul-away at the end. A seasonal plan is the same kind of work on a calendar: fall leaves, then a spring pass to pull what winter broke.

If the lawn area itself needs new sod, that is a sod and irrigation job, not a leaf cleanup. If the beds need a new layout after we clear them, we quote the landscape design separately so the cleanup stays a cleanup.

What changes the visit is access and volume. A small front yard with two beds is a different day from a corner lot under large trees, with gutters on a two-story house and brush along the fence. That is why the estimate is a look at the yard, not a price from the curb.

Yard Cleanup Questions

What does a yard cleanup include?

Leaf and debris removal, tree and shrub trimming, gutter cleaning, mulching, and haul-away of the yard waste. We set the list for your yard at the free estimate.

How is this different from a hauling company?

We do the raking, trimming, and bed work, then we haul it. You do not have to bag the yard before we arrive.

Do you do one-time cleanups or seasonal visits?

Both. Spring and fall are the usual one-time visits. Some homeowners book both seasons.

When should I book fall leaf removal?

Before the first heavy snow. Leaves on the lawn smother grass, and leaves in gutters and window wells hold water on the house.

Can cleanup lead to landscaping?

Yes. If the beds need more than a cleanup, we quote landscaping in Colorado Springs separately. You will see that on the estimate, not as a surprise.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. Call 719-572-1768. We look at the yard first. The crew is fully insured.
